Scoop – Range Rover Sport SVR: test run on the Nürburgring

The Nürburgring circuit in Germany is the playground of many production car prototypes. It is here, in the heart of the Eifel mountains, that the Range Rover Sport SVR continues its development trials before its launch towards the end of the year.

Range Rover Sport SVR

The third-generation Land Rover Range Rover Sport has just been presented and marketed with an entry ticket displayed at €94,200 that we are already thinking of the next sporting variant of this model. This is the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR which should be marketed at the end of 2022.

For the moment this model continues its development tests on the mythical German Nürburgring circuit, where it roars its V8 and screeches its wide tires. Under the hood of this model, we will soon discover a V8 engine borrowed from BMW. This is the block found under the hood of the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M. It should display 625 hp under the hood of the English model, like the BMW X6 M Competition.

Well planted on its 23-inch wheels, the Range Rover Sport SVR moves quickly on the Nurburgring track. Like the Range Rover Sport, the SVR version features the new MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) platform which can accommodate internal combustion powertrains and electric motors. It is also lighter than the old platform and also more rigid. There is enough to face the competition with serenity from the Audi RS Q8 and BMW X6 M and the GLE Coupé AMG 63 S from Mercedes.

Compared to the Range Rover Sport, the Range Rover Sport SVR is expected to sport a more muscular look with large front air intakes, quad rear exhaust outlets, widened wheel arches, roof spoiler very imposing, huge brake discs, etc. See you at the end of the year to discover this new sporty model.
